Founded in 2017 by owner Tim Freeman, AAL CEO, Tony Zefiretto has announced, the Peach State Cats are thrilled have signed a lease to play the 2019 season in the Akins Ford Arena at the Classic Center, in Athens, Georgia. This spring will be the Cats second season in the American Arena League.
“We are looking forward to calling The Classic Center our home,” said Cats owner Tim Freeman. “Athens has had a rich football history with the success of The University of Georgia, Cedar Shoals, and Clarke Central programs over the years. We are looking forward to serving the community.”
The Cats, who are members of the American Arena League, will play five home games at Akins Ford Arena between March and June. The official league schedule will be released in November.
