Roughriders Sign Former Sooners 2 Time All American OL Duke Robinson for 2019 Season @ WesBanco Arena

The West Virginia Roughriders have signed 6' 5" 330 lb offensive lineman Duke Robinson for the 2019 season, the team announced on Thursday, December 13th, 2018.

Robinson, a former 2-time All American (2007,2008) standout offensive lineman at the University of Oklahoma under then Head Coach Bob Stoops would dominate in his 3 years at Oklahoma, also achieving multiple All-Big 12 honors and a spot on the Sports Illustrated 2009 All-Decade Team. After graduating from Oklahoma, Duke Robinson was selected in the 5th round of the 2009 draft with the 163rd overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. After Robinson's stint in the NFL with Panthers and then with the Tennessee Titans, Duke would turn his attention to Arena Football. Over the next few years Duke would go onto play for top tier arena football teams like The Utah Blaze, Spokane Shock, Philadelphia Soul, Jacksonville Sharks, and most recently with the Portland Steel.

Robinson will now join the new-look West Virginia Roughriders who will begin their 3rd season in 2019, and just their first season at their new home at The WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia. West Virginia Roughriders Owner/GM Gregg Fornario is happy to have a big guy like Duke on the offensive line in a sport where that position is so vital. "Duke is going to be a huge asset to the team, not just with his size and experience but also with the skill and talent to play the center and guard positions."
