The West Virginia Roughriders have signed wide receiver Larry Beavers for the 2019 season, the team announced on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018.
Arena football veteran wide receiver Larry Beavers is now set to join the ranks of fellow West Virginia Roughriders receivers Robert Meachem and Noel Devine to combine for one heck of a receiving core for the 2019 season at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Beavers, an arena football journeyman has played 7 years in the AFL (Arena Football League) for teams like the Philadelphia Soul, Cleveland Gladiators, New Orleans Voodoo, and most recently in 2018 with the Albany Empire. Beavers also spent some time in the CFL (Canadian Football League, Edmonton Eskimos) as well as the NFL, as Beavers was signed by the Carolina Panthers after college in 2009 and also with the New Orleans Saints in 2010.
Larry Beavers will be a welcomed addition to the Roughriders roster providing some valuable experience on the arena level as West Virginia Roughriders Owner and General Manager, Gregg Fornario explains, "Larry has played on every level of football and will bring his arena experience to help lead the way as a warrior and mentor on and off the field. We couldn't be happier to call him a Roughrider."
